Phrt182 -Las Vegas Nite Diwali Social

Las Vegas Nite Diwali Bash Hosted by Tr, Vikas Agarwal and Tr. Amit Bora, Phrt182 at 9.00 p.m. on 24th Oct , 2008 at Jahaan Bungalow , Mundhwa , Pune Dress Code Traditional Attended by 17 of 19 tablers and 20+ tabling couples from other Pune tables After receiving the invite , there was a lot of excitement and anticipation amongst all thetablers for this fellowship event . The invite was in a form of a boarding pass for a flightto Vegas and this itself was so unique and innovative that even those who wereplanning to be out of town were rearranging their schedules to attend the event . Inspiteof the heightened expectations , the party itself was so much beyond anything whatanyone could have imagined , most of Pune's tablers who were invited were talkingabout the event till much after . Our Chairman, Tr. Vikas Agarwal and co host Tr. AmitBora had chosen the venue with much care which was a beautiful private bungalowahead of Koregaon park , guaranteeing complete privacy , ensuring the party would onwell beyond the deadline of 11.30 p.m. The hosts had promised the party would go ontill 3.00 a.m. but very few would have expected that the party continued till 7.30 in themorning with morning tea being served before the last of the partygoers dispersed . After following the directions on the invite me and my wife Monica reached thebungalow and our car was promptly attended to by the valets as special valet parkingwas arranged for the convenience of all the guests . At the entrance of the venue abeautiful rangoli greeted us and diyas showing the way inside . Once inside we wereamazed to see the décor with different coloured halogens lighting the foliage around thegarden , giant cutouts of playing cards mounted around , fully stocked bar at one endand casino in an enclosed room on the other end . After exchanging greetings weimmediately made our way to the bar and got us some drinks . The flair bartenders were concocting some lovely cocktails and we got some watermelon martinis for theladies and flavored caprioshkas for ourselves .True to the promise made by the Tr.Vikas, in true Vegas style, there were some British and Spanish ladies moving around
as hostesses ensuring everyone had enough to drink and eat . He was seen movingaround forcing tequila shots on everyone followed by the lovely ladies garlanding theguests with beads .Tr. Amit Patodia , Tr. Lokesh Munot and Tr. Nikhil Shah , all hardcore gamblers , thencaught me and took me to the casino room . Other tablers had already caught theirspaces around the black jack and roulette tables . We quickly got some tokens from thecashier and started iour luck at the tables . After an initial run of bad luck at theblack ack tables weot attracted to the roulette tables where it seemed some tablerstryngj, ghad taken in huge winnings . We tried our luck too and soon we hit a lucky streak andwere able to predict the numbers with some sort of sixth sense . With 1 : 35 odds wecleaned out the dealer and it was as thrill to start the night on a winning note . Attracted by the music which was suddenly higher in volume and catcalls from outside wehurried outside to see a shapely young Russian dressed in quite a naughty outfit doing asort of a flamenco and salsa combination and dancing slowly and sensually to themusic . After the first sequence the tempo quickened a little and another dancer cameand howed uimoves using jchai Nhdss someamazng ust a r as aprop .ow te crowwaswarming up and she was throwing her cowboy hat at the guests and whoever caught itthen had the lady doing some moves around him . By the time the first Russian cameagain for a performance, the crowd was in full element and then the wildest of all ourtablers , everyones favorite dancer , Tr. Abhijit Bora wanting to show off some moves ofhis own . He went up to the dancer , twirled her around taking her totally by surprise .After this, she too got into the act , caught Abhijit , pushed him onto a chair, gave him alap dance straight out of the Vegas nightclubs , with everyone looking on openmouthed . Both of them proceeded to then do some moves together, bordering on theerotic and sensual at the same time, and it was so synchronized it seemed as if they hadbeen practicing the entire day for it . Cheers to Abhijits wife , Pooja for be ng such agood sport and letting Abhijit have some fun moments which I am sure he will remember for a long long time .
It seemed that the hosts had not left anything out and after the performances there was a dazzling fireworks display . After the fireworks , it was already past midnightand some of the early birds proceeded for dinner catered by Pizzeria with live pasta ,risotto and made to order Pizzas . The rest made circles for playing cards some on thetables in the garden and the rest in the various rooms on mattresses . The ladies wereseen playing with smaller stakes while the guys grouped together from small to mindboggling stakes . While most of the tablers played for the next two hours including meand then left after having a late dinner, the next day I was surprised to learn that there were some die hard players who continued playing till 7.30 in the morning . The baralso stayed open till almost six in the morning till the last bottle of Black Label wasconsumed . A few days later I was again reminded of the event when Pune Times featured it with awhole write up and lot of photos from the party . I am sure Tr. Abhijit must havethanked his lucky stars that the papers did not insert any photos of him in acompromising position. Along with 17 tabling couples from our table and more than 25tabling couples from other tables and other personal invitees, there were more than 100 people who attended the party . It was a great start to the festival of Diwaliand New Year and a fantastic effort by the hosts and their better halves .
