AFRTSupporting the national initiative to celebrate the Children’s Day by holdingPainting CompetitionChildren s a painting competition, AFRT 199 and AFLC 111 took initiative for organiseda “painting competition” in Ahmedabad.The team of AFRT and AFLC finally arranged a competition for the schoolchildren of Manav Sadhna Kendra, Ahmedabad. Manav Sadhna Kendra is anorganization which works in & around Gandhi Ashram. They also havecommunity center of there own where the event took place.The event was graced by our chief guest Dr. Mrs. Vina Srivastava, who wasalso kind enough to become judge for the event .The event was started with a prayer. Then the introduction was given aboutthe RTI and the event that it was organized through out India on the sameday with 5500 to 6000 children participating all around the country.We were expecting about 250 children, but were amazed to see that over 320children participated in our programme. Thankfully, we were able to makearrange ment for all the participants.We had also organised a “MAGIC SHOW“ for the children, which receivedoverwhelming response. The smile and curiosity on the faces of the childrenwas heart-touching. They enjoyed a lot and some were smart enough tocatch the tricks. These kids are smart and outwitting us. Beware of them !!!We all present also gave our blessings to two of the participants and alsoparticipants, Cr. Ritika, my better half, on their Birthday .
Two groups were formed aged 5-8 years and 8-13 years. Children were takento the class rooms for the painting competition, and were provided with allstationery like pencil, sharpener, eraser, scale, paper, crayons etc. The eventPainting Competition lasted for over 45 minutes. In the meantime, many of the children weretalking to us and describing all the things, asking various questions. The experience was just magical.When the children completed the painting, they were served snacks of powaand milk bottle.The effort of the children was so great that the judge was having difficulty inchoosing the best paintings. After much deliberation, the winners werefinally selected and in all 6 prizes were given away. I also thankRTI and LCI for bringing up this concept and giving us an opportunity to bea part of this national event.These beautiful moments we shared today will forever stay in our hearts.
