Bombay RT#2 celebrates the 1200th meeting
One more milestone in the history of Bombay RT 2 as it celebrated its 1200th meeting on 30th August’ 08. The evening at Hotel Executive Enclave, Bandra was one that will be remembered down memory lane in the future. BRT 2 has completed 48 glorious years from when it was chartered on 23rd August 1960. BRT 2 is amongst the 6 tables of India who were the original signatories of the charter of Round Table India. This has been a long and eventful journey. BRT 2 had the honour to have amongst the guests, Sq. Legs of BRT 2, AST Tr. Mukul Ajmera, chairmen, prospective, circlers and tablers from across all tables of Bombay city. The crowd of more than 60 heads rocked late into the night.
Sq. Leg Prakash Apte lit the lamp to begin the proceedings of the meeting. The 1200th meeting was called to order by Chairman Vishal with a toast raised. We then sang the RTI song. Tr. Ranjit presented a myriad of memories of almost 5 decades of BRT 2. It was a very nostalgic moment for all present, especially the Sq Legs who laid the foundation for us. AST Mukul unveiled the pin of the 1200th meeting of BRT 2.
Tr. Rajiv Mehra Jr. & Cr. Rita Rajgarhia entertained the floor as they were Seargeants for the evening. Tr. Rajiv impersonated and mimicked Laloo Prasad Yadav and Cr. Rita was a journalist interviewing him. They made spoofs of all the tablers of BRT 2 and had everyone in splits. Tr. Rajiv perfected the act with pan in his mouth and Bihari on his tongue.
The celebration peaked with cutting a cake and Sq Leg Rahul Nandkeolar popped champagne. The celebration moved on to the dance floor and the party rocked on. A celebration that will be remembered for years to come.
