Sooraj Barjatia Style Wedding

SMRT – 155 had two bachelors as Tablers. Darshan and Amit. Darshan, after having a learning license for 4 long years (engagement for the uninitiated), decided to go for the kill and earn a permanent license. All the Tablers were very happy that after a long time our Darshan had decided to take the plunge. The announcement got everybody charged up and looking forward to the occasion.

What a run up we had to the wedding. Day 1, Karaoke nite attended by Darshan's family and relatives. Day 2 Dance party. DJ of Jazz by the Bay Mumbai was roped in to give us some ground breaking music and we went to town dancing into the wee hours of the morning. All the Tablers along with their family had a ball of a time at the party. Even though the party had attendance beyond the Table, it was a fellowship event which all of us enjoyed and will remember for a long long time. Of course who could forget the cocktails served by a professional bartender. There were more "Long Island Ice Tea" cocktails served than in a bar in New York. Day 3 Dinner hosted by Darshan's family. Day 4 Mehndi. Day 5 The wedding. The baraat started off about 300 meters from the venue of the wedding and then it was 2 hours of non stop dancing. During the wedding even the Heaven's blessed the couple with a sprinkle of rain.

Day 6 The Reception. All the Tablers were in full attendance. All of us went on the stage together and had a meeting on the stage. The floor unanimously decided to make the man of the hour Tr. Darshan the acting Chairman for the meeting. Tr. Pankaj handed over the jewel to Tr. Darshan who with prompting from fellow Tablers conducted the entire meeting with the Circlers and wives of the Tablers present for the meeting. We in our Tabling spirit wanted the meeting to go on for a long time, but there was a long line of well wishers behind us waiting to greet the newly wed couple. During the meeting entire Tabling family of SMRT – 155 congratulated the couple and wished them the very best for the future.
The week which we spent was one which we will remember for a long long time.
Darshan and Bhairavi, all the best for your future.
